Madrona
A cable car once hauled beachgoers down Union to the lake, and Madrona works on that line to this day: a short run of shops at 34th and Union, then the long green drop through Madrona Woods to the water. The neighborhood has called itself the Peaceable Kingdom for decades, and the mix of old houses, park, and beach mostly earns it.
