Olmsted boulevards carry this neighborhood, curving from Franklin High School's 1912 landmark building down to the swimming beach at Mount Baker Park. The blocks between Rainier Ave S and Lake Washington were laid out as a streetcar showpiece a century ago, and the light rail station at Rainier and McClellan does the same work now.
