Dating to circa 1810, this Georgian fob is crafted in 9KT rose gold and set with a rectangular carnelian intaglio engraved with a remarkably detailed heraldic device. At its center is a shield bearing a crowned heart beneath three stars, surmounted by an arm holding a broken spear. Below, a ribbon carries the archaically spelled motto “DOE OR DIE." Together, these elements identify the heraldry as that of the Douglas family of Cavers, a Scottish branch of the Douglas family. Historical descripti
