Dating to circa 1950, this platinum Midcentury ring features an extraordinary 15.14-carat natural, no-heat color-change sapphire . Oval mixed-cut and set in a simple four-prong setting, the sapphire displays deep blue to violet-purple coloration, shifting under different lighting conditions. The sapphire's scale determines the ring's architecture. Rather than surrounding such a substantial stone with a halo, the jeweler leaves it visually open and concentrates the diamonds along the shoulders. F
