This Vintage Wood Tea Box is a traditional Japanese tea shipping and storage chest , originally used to transport and preserve tea leaves. These boxes were typically lined with tin to create an airtight, moisture‑resistant interior that protected the tea during long journeys. Its utilitarian construction and cultural purpose make it a charming example of historic Japanese craftsmanship.
