A simple wind chime in the shape of a bell that makes a delicate chime as its tanzaku ripples in the breeze. Wind bells have a deep history in Japan, dating back to the Muromachi period more than 500 years ago, and their light chimes are meant to evoke a feeling of coolness during the heat of summer. Chushin Kobo is a design studio founded in 1997 by Hisanori Masuda. Based in Yamagata, he seeks to recreate objects retaining the beauty of traditional Japanese cast iron but stylishly adapted to fi
