Originally built for heavy-cover bass fishing, the Gamakatsu Superline Hook has become a go-to for tying durable, effective flies for lingcod and rockfish. Its extra-strong wire handles the power of big bottomfish, and the wide gap allows for full-bodied baitfish patterns using bucktail, rabbit strips, synthetics, or saddle hackles. One key advantage is the added weight of the hook itself, keeling the fly—often eliminating the need for extra dumbbell eyes, which can snag easily in rocks and kelp
