La Mancha Spanish Saffron (Azafran) - 1 Gram - Spain Spanish saffron is easily the most sought-after spice in the world. These small threads, stamen of an autumn-blooming saffron crocus, add unmatched color and flavor to curries, paella, and of course, seafood. About 160,000 hand picked strands are required for 1 kilo, which explains its king's ransom cost. Good saffron is not unattainable, however, and our La Mancha Spanish saffron is the best to be had at a quality price.
