This is lightweight snow picket anchor from SMC designed for firmer snow for guides and hardcore alpinists to be placed either horizontally or vertically, depending upon the snow conditions encountered. The reinforced EnCAPsulator head striking area prevents "mushrooming" of the end when pounding the picket into a vertical placement. Shorter length pickets like this are ideal for firmer snow conditions, and also fit more nicely when carried on compact climbing packs. Snow conditions vary widely
