Privacy
What we keep when you show your art here
This is the part of our privacy page for artists who apply to show their work here. The main privacy page covers you as a visitor, our host’s logs included; this one covers what you give us as an artist.
What your page holds
Your name, and the first name buyers see on your page. The web address you choose, or one made from your name. Your email address. What you write about your work, your mediums and your neighborhood. Your links: your website, your shop and your Instagram. Your studio’s address, if you open it to visitors. The art walks you name. Whether you came by invite, and our reason if we pause or turn down your page. Which version of the artists’ terms you accepted, and when.
You can’t add pictures yet, of you or your work, and each work needs one. When pictures open, this page will say what a work holds.
Applying is for people 18 or older. If we learn that someone younger applied, we delete the application.
Who sees what
LocalHere’s owner reads every application before its page goes live, unless you were invited: an invited page goes live at once. There is no set time for the read yet. If the answer is no, your link says so. Once your page is live, anyone can see your name, your first name, your words, mediums and neighborhood, your links and art walks, your studio’s address while you mark the studio open, and the date your page went live. Your email address is never shown on your public page. We use it only to write to you about your page, never for advertising, and we never sell it.
Supabase stores it and Vercel hosts LocalHere, as on the main privacy page. LocalHere is built and run with Claude, Anthropic’s AI, which can read the database while it works.
Your page is yours through the link we give you, which the browser you applied from keeps too. Anyone with the link can see your page as you gave it, your email address included, and can change or remove it, so keep it private. We store only a hash of its key, so we cannot send the link again. Lost it? We can correct or remove your page for you: write through the contact page, giving the address you applied with.
Before you send your application, what you have typed is kept in your browser alone, so you can come back to it. It reaches us only when you send it, and sending it, or Start over, clears it from the browser.
If someone invited you
We keep the invite as a hash of the address it is for, mixed with a secret of ours, with any note and who invited you. Your page records that you were invited.
How long we keep it
- A page that has gone live stays, even while paused or hidden, until you take it down or we turn it down.
- An application not yet approved goes 90 days after its last change.
- A turned-down application goes 30 days after the decision; a page that was live and then turned down, 365 days after.
- An invite goes 90 days after it was used, or after it expired unused.
- Once your page has been live, its web address is kept for good, dated, so a printed card never leads to someone else.
- Our backups keep anything removed for up to 7 days.
Changing or removing your page
You can change your page or remove it yourself, from your editor, with your link. Without the link, ask through the contact page, giving the address you applied with. We check with that address first.
Applying, opening your page with its link and removing it are counted per connection to stop floods, as on the main privacy page. Saving your page or a work is counted per page.
