Seattle neighborhood
Ballard
Ballard was its own city until 1907, and it never quite got over it. Brick-fronted Ballard Ave NW runs from the old city hall bell tower down toward Salmon Bay, the farmers market takes over the street every Sunday year-round, and the Locks still pull half the neighborhood out to watch salmon and sailboats change elevation.
