Mid to late 19th C. American gold leaf fluted cove frame. Gilding removed

This frame has a flat sight edge with a lamb’s tongue detail below a narrow cove rising to a flat sanded frieze and a row of beads. The outer frame has a flat step with a fluted cove and acanthus leaves at the corners rising to a top edge with large reeds. Side coves with narrow bead and lamb’s tongue details at the back edge. The frame has remnants of gold leaf and gray bole and a W. K. O’Brien Brothers, N.Y. label on the back.
