Late 19th C. European(?) gold leaf, Barbizon frame with applied ornament

The frame has a narrow square sight edge and a wide, flattened convex “cushion” profile covered with curling leaves, flowers, C-scrolls and straps on a cross-hatched background. Large acanthus leaves at each corner and shallow, flat sides. Original gilding with some overpaint.
