Late 19th C. American gold leaf and applied ornament frame with anthemion design

This frame has a flat sight edge with a row of beads and a series of steps up to a leaf pattern on the flat frieze then rising in a slight curve covered in anthemions to the laurel leaf and berry top edge with corner straps. Side coves with a leaf tip and cove at the back edge. Original gilding.
