SoDo meant south of the Dome until the Kingdome came down in 2000; the stadiums rise from the same flats now, and the name reads south of downtown. Between game days it stays a working district, with warehouse blocks and rail spurs along 1st and 4th Ave S, port cranes at the Duwamish end, and the busway and light rail running the spine.
